806 Health Tip: Why It’s Important To Keep Your Cool
It's never a good idea to lose your cool. Especially if you are at work. Really it's never a good idea anywhere.
You don't want to be that person who ends up saying something that you can't take back. That would not be a good thing. Actually losing your temper can also cause you health issues.
When you lose you temper you do not sleep well. Your brain is thinking through everything and that makes your body increase it's blood flow. You will have a harder time relaxing if that happens.
Your digestion is affected. When you get angry it triggers your "fight or flight" reactions. That ends up sending more blood to those parts of your body that would help you escape, such as your legs. When that situation happens your digestive system ends up getting less blood. When that happens you will get less of the good bacteria that is needed in your gut. If that happens it can also allow bad bacteria to take its place.
Did you know that anger will cause you to gain wrinkles? Your face needs collagen to make the skin plump and smooth. In times of stress you produce less and less collagen. Studies have shown links between stress and some common skin conditions like psoriasis and dermatitis.
A big warning flag is the fact that angry people are just plain more likely to die young. Anger and stress goes hand in hand to make your body release adrenaline which ends up damaging your DNA and that makes you more likely to get fatal diseases.
So when you feel yourself losing your temper take a step back and take a deep breath and just calm yourself down.
