We know that we need to work out especially if we want to lose weight. We want that summer body before we head to the pool this summer.

So we head to the gym first. That is a great first start. Oh and then we need to eat healthy. Losing weight is actually 80% diet and 20% exercise.

So the eating healthy part is really the most important part. Especially if you think this way. According to a new study exercising can actually make you gain weight. I am not talking about that muscle mass actually weighs more than fat. That is not it.

Apparently when people start working out they feel that they earned eating extra calories. A sort of reward. They feel they deserve the extra food. That is dangerous and can defeat the purpose of heading to the gym in the first place.

The average person ended up increasing their portion size by 24% after a workout adding about an extra 150 calories. The worst part about that is most of the time they didn't even burn that many calories. So there is the added weight.

The good thing, though, is that the exercise got their heart rate going. That is really important so of course it is still important to exercise. Just make sure you are not rewarding yourself and putting you in that calorie deficit. You want to burn more calories than you eat so you can lose that weight.
