806 Health: Start Your Day Off By Making Your Bed
What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? Probably check your phone. A lot of us do. We want to see how our day is going to be. What should be the first thing you do when you wake up? Make your bed.
First of all, if you do-- you know your mom will be proud of you. She knew that making your bed was a good habit to get into. I mean, it starts your day off great. You have already accomplished a task for the day.
If you can make this a daily habit it will get easier. The more you do it, the easier it will be to accomplish. It doesn't take much time to do. It really doesn't. The best thing is it really does put you in a better mood. Try it.
I got my daughter in the habit of this back when I was selling our house in Wolflin. You know when your house is on the market you never know when someone is going to look at your house. So we always had to have it presentable. Here we are now, almost six years later, and any time I go to visit I notice that is the first thing she does when she gets out of bed.
It puts her in a good mood and starts the day off on a positive note. It's all in your mind. She has even told me that is the reason she does it. She realizes she can accomplish anything if she just starts off with this easy task.
I know you are thinking that you will just get back in bed that night, so why bother? Well give it a try and see how it makes you feel. See how soon it becomes a habit.
