806 Health Tip: Can You Trick Yourself Into Losing Weight?
I get it, losing weight is hard. We all look in the mirror and think how much we would love to lose 5 or 10 pounds. Right?
Again it is so hard. Are there some helpful tricks that can make it seem easier to lose that weight? There possibly could be. Tell me what you think?
I know it seems pretty annoying sometimes when people post photos of their food. I get that. If you do it though, it could help you be a little more accountable for what you are eating. It might help you make healthier decisions because you are putting it out there for everyone to see.
Have you ever substituted romaine or another type of lettuce for bread? Using the lettuce in place of the hamburger bun....or even in place of the taco shell? I do that a lot. I always say that it helps with the crunching effect. I didn't know that was actually a thing. It does help you cut calories by not eating the carbs......but it also satisfies that need to crunch down on food. Try it some time. I think you may like it too.
Protein is something you should never cut out. It helps you feel fuller longer. So even if you don't eat meat there are other protein sources you can consume. If you cut protein out you tend to feel hungrier. If you feel hungrier....guess what? You will eat more food. So eat that protein.
We tend to eat less food if we take the time to cut it into smaller pieces. This is one of those things that tricks your mind into thinking you are eating more than you actually are ingesting. It also helps you to snack less later on in the day. So take your time and take smaller bites.
Drink more water when you feel the urge to snack. You may not actually be hungry. You may be thirsty and your brain doesn't know the difference. So next time you think you need to eat...grab a glass or two of water and see if that helps.
Another easy trick is when you are eating your food....take your time chewing it. This slows down your eating obviously and sends the message to your brain that you are full sooner. We tend to eat too fast so those signals never get to us right away. If we just slow it down we can tend to eat a lot less. Try it.
